Indonesia is blessed with many coastlines. Beaches with white sand and blue water is very common in Indonesia. One of those is Pulau Kepayang or Kepayang Island. This island is the closest island to Tanjung Kelayang Beach. Here what makes this beach is different with other white sand beaches in Indonesia.
Location
Pulau Kepayang is the largest island among dozens of exotic small islands in North Belitung. This island is also known as Pig Island. The area of the island is approximately 14 hectares with several attractive beaches.
Kepayang island is clearly visible from the west side of Tanjung Kelayang beach. Visitors usually use a boat from the port of Tanjung Kelayang with a long journey of about 10 minutes. On this island, visitors can stroll along the long coastline while occasionally enjoying the crashing of the ocean waves.
What Makes It Special
A popular place in Pulau Kepayang is visited by visitors is the Sand Island. Pulau Pasir is actually an extension of the island of Kepayang which is located in the north. White Sands on the southeast side of Kepayang Island – a few hundred meters from Pasir Island – is one of the best places to stop on this island, especially when the sea water is receding.
A stretch of white sand stretches along the southeast and south sides of this island. There is almost no granite, only white sand with a beach length of about 300 meters. On the mainland side there are only coconut groves.

On the coast to the north, the beach conditions are less attractive because they are covered with sharp and slippery rocks. So the South side of this island facing Pasir island is one of the best sides to enjoy this island.
The sea off the coast is also good for playing, not too deep and the seabed is fine sand. Currently there are no buildings on the south side of the island, only a few shady ketapang trees for shade. It is a great escape for you who wants to find private time.
In Kepayang Island, visitors can stop for a moment at a local shop located around the island. Enjoying a cup of warm coffee while sitting relaxed in the shop is the right choice to unwind.
